Of the resorts along the Kohala Coast, Kukio is the most recently developed. Kukio offers a short golf course on the makai side of the highway and a championship 18 hole golf course on the mauka side both designed by Tom Fazio. Very different from other resorts along the coast, Kukio is much like mainland private country clubs. It is a members-only resort with exclusive use of all their facilities reserved for the owners.
